The opening line of 17 was about perfect for this one, as I have the Buckeyes as a three-touchdown favorite against the Terps. Ohio State continues to get downgraded for that terrible loss at Purdue and the close win over Nebraska, but it just annihilated Michigan State last week in a great bounce-back effort. Meanwhile, Maryland's recent wins are against Illinois ... Rutgers ... and Minnesota. Maryland's 124th-ranked passing offense (out of 129 teams, four below it run the triple option) is not going to be able to keep up with Ohio State for four quarters, even if it manages to impress in the first half.
Maryland seems to suffer the most ACL injuries to QBs than any team in organized football. Kasim Hill, their starter, just tore his last week. Here's the problem: they face against Ohio State this week and they're breaking in a new QB against a team that's fighting for position in the CFB Playoffs. The Buckeyes' offense will be the direct beneficiary of all of the additional possessions they'll receive in this game and pull away very early from the Terps.
