Did not think this line would come down so much, so jumping on it late is my fault. That said, considering I think Texas A&M wins outright, I'll take the extra points. Mississippi State has struggled against strong rushing defenses this season (see: Florida, LSU) and Texas A&M is better than both in that category. The Aggies are also coming off a bye week, and while the Bulldogs have a massive home field advantage, particularly at night, their offense is not good enough to go toe-to-toe with TAMU and Jimbo Fisher.
I think this line is off. The Bulldogs have played four SEC games. They've won once. In their three losses, they've managed to score a total of 16 points. They have a terrific defense, but I can't trust this offense to cover at home against a good Texas A&M team. Particularly in this matchup. Mississippi State has no passing attack to speak of, so the Bulldogs are going to have to run to move the ball, but the problem there is the Aggies have a strong run defense. Where are the points going to come from?
Excuse me? Mississippi State is favored over Texas A&M with the Aggies coming off a bye? On what planet does that make sense? The Aggies are the nation's fourth-best rush defense, the ground game is all that the Bulldogs have and Bulldogs coach Joe Moorhead is contemplating a quarterback switch from Nick Fitzgerald to Keytaon Thompson. Texas A&M will put 11 guys in the box, and dare the Bulldogs to throw -- something they can't do.
