We've got the makings for a shootout here with QBs Logan Woodside (31 TD passes) and Thomas Woodson (16 TD passes), and while I don't want to lay points on the road with Toledo coming of a home loss (-15 vs Ohio), I do feel there is some value with the total; 72 looks too high by about five points and that's a good enough hook for me to bite. The weather is fine in Akron, but I like Toledo's defense allowing only 23 ppg and 377 ypg. Six of the Rockets' eight games have stayed well Under 72 points.

My simulations show the high-powered Rockets winning by at least 15 points over an erratic Akron club Wednesday. The Zips are 5-4 but have lost two of their last three by a combined score of 82-20. They are coming off a 41-20 loss at Buffalo as 17-point favorites. The Rockets are coming off a major upset loss of their own, falling 31-26 to Ohio as a 16-point chalk. But Akron’s fading defense should be no match for one of the more potent offensive units in the country. Lay the points.
