Wednesday's rousing win over Bama was the latest impressive effort for the Tigers, a long way from last year's 0-18 SEC entry. Dennis Gates has a balanced 84 ppg offense that can stretch the floor with 37% three-point shooting, led by Caleb Grill's 46% accuracy. John Calipari's Razorbacks, however, are riding six straight covers (at least for those who got +8.5 at Texas A&M last Saturday), with the ability to pace games slower than the opposition would like. The uptick began immediately after flashy frosh G Boogie Fland went on the injury list last month. Even an 0-for-10 shooting effort by C Zvonimir Ivisic couldn't knock the Porkers out of the box at Auburn, when the Hogs went only 3-19 triples. Play Arkansas
This is a really tough spot for the Tigers after beating Alabama. The Missouri crowd was the loudest I’ve heard all season. The energy in that place was amazing Wednesday night, and the players certainly fed off it. Now the Tigers have to go on the road to face an Arkansas squad playing much better over the final month. The Hogs are 3-3 in their last six games, with the three losses coming against Alabama, Texas A&M and Auburn by an average of 6.3 points. There’s no question Missouri is the better team here. However, betting conference games in late February is sometimes more about timing than talent. This is a good time to be playing Missouri. I'll give John Calipari one last chance.
