After losing five straight to Southern Illinois, Murray State came away with the victory January 22, 74-64, at SIU. Murray State put a 12-win season last year to bed and returned with a 13-14 record so far. They got three starters that returned from last year as well as two key reserves. This is a time when they know they have to win the tournament to make the NCAA’s and Murray State has to be thinking why not us? SIU came into the season with no returning starters off a 19-win season and they're 12-15 this year. I made Murray State -4.5 so the numbers are cheap for me.
