The SportsLine Projection Model has VMI winning this SoCon matchup by 13 ... but I don't think that's accurate. I do think the Keydets win at home, though, as they are 16-2 in their past 18 at Cameron Hall. VMI leads the SoCon in free throw percentage (.803), field goal percentage defense (.385), assist/turnover ratio (1.5), defensive rebounds (30.3) and three-point field goals per game (12.4 -- second in the nation). Samford lost at VMI by 29 in the final meeting last season. This is one of those (like UNC Asheville last night) that my pick SHOULD win as long as every key VMI player starts as they are supposed to. One of Samford's best, Jermaine Marshall, apparently is out again.
