BYU is a darn good team, with its only losses coming to Gonzaga (twice), Boise State, USC and Pepperdine -- the Cougars did beat the Waves in Provo by 11, though, and I tend to think something similar happens in this WCC Tournament semifinal in Las Vegas. The Cougars are ranked in the Top 30 in the country in both offensive and defensive efficiency. They are probably going to get an NCAA Tournament at-large bid even with a loss here but will not want to play with fire.

These teams split their regular season meetings, but we saw a lot of splits this season when teams played each other in consecutive games. Based on what we've seen from both squads all year long, the 65-54 BYU win in the first meeting is a better indicator of where these teams sit in relation to one another, and I expect the Cougars to win by double-digits tonight to set up a likely final against Gonzaga.
