Colonial Athletic Association Tournament semifinal game from Harrisonburg, Va. Northeastern is the better team when fully healthy, but the Huskies for sure will be without one starter in Shaquille Walters (10.5 ppg, 6.6 rpg) and perhaps a second in Jason Strong (9.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg). The school returned from a long COVID break Sunday in beating William & Mary without both guys and only eight available players. Drexel took out Charleston on Sunday. It's the first meeting of the season between these two.
Drexel has been a covering machine this season. The Dragons are 12-5 on the season, including 9-3 in games away from home. Head coach Zach Spiker is in his fifth year and has improved the team every season. Four of five Drexel starters have been able to start in every game. The Dragons are third in the nation in minutes continuity. Northeastern will be without one starter, and maybe two.
This game is somewhat of a perfect storm for me. Not only does it feature two teams who are playing on back-to-back days (with both teams coming off a significant layoff in the process), but it also features a total that my simulations say is two points too high as it is. I'm taking the full-game Under, and depending on how things go in the first half, I'll probably be looking to take the second-half Under as well.
