Kansas offers nice value thanks to a slow start in the non-conference portion of their schedule. Kansas has played significantly better competition so far this season and that will be key tonight as Big 12 conference play starts. My simulations make the Jayhawks just +0.2 on the road. Take the points.
This line has climbed to the point where I see value on the Jayhawks, who have won two in a row in the series versus Texas Tech, and four of the last five. Kansas has played the tougher schedule, by far. Look for a big game from Jalen Wilson as the Jayhawks take this game to the wire, and possibly win outright.
I'm a bit on the fence with this spread, so we'll look to the total in the only ranked matchup of the night and Big 12 opener for both. No question that this will be a defensive rock fight as KenPom ranks Texas Tech as the No. 1 adjusted efficiency defense in the country and KU sixth. That said, the only respectable team that TTU has played thus far is Houston, and the Red Raiders allowed 64 points in that one. A much better Kansas side can't get to 70? I simply think this total is about five points too low. The Over is 7-1 in the past eight meetings.
