PAC 12 FIRST ROUND -- The market is highly influenced by the 51-70 Utah loss to Oregon State in the last meeting. Both teams struggle defensively, but I make Utah +1 in Vegas. Take the points.
PAC 12 FIRST ROUND -- The Beavers had their highest margin of victory in the Pac-12 when they beat the Utes 70-51. That matchup and the Beavers' five upperclassmen are tied into this line. Look for the Utes to lean on their return to T-Mobile Arena as a confidence-booster, as the Utes defeated Kentucky there on Dec. 18.
Props to Utah for ending the regular season with an exclamation point in an upset of Colorado without PG Rylan Jones (concussion). However, that was a home game. The Utes went 1-10 straight-up in legit roadies and, though this is a neutral-court setting, Jones and his impressive 4.4 assists per outing will be missed. With one of D-1’s youngest rosters, Utah might lack the requisite intensity hike for postseason play.
PAC-12 TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND -- The Beavers and Utes split their regular season meetings. But Oregon State won the last meeting by 19 and Utah won the first game thanks in large part to shooting 47.1 percent on threes while Oregon State went 3-for-21 that night. This matchup features two bad defenses, so the Over might not be a horrible play, either, but I prefer the Oregon State team that has gone 12-7 ATS this season as a favorite while Utah is 6-9 ATS as a dog.
