There was a lot of attention paid to Oklahoma's 7-11 record in conference play as pundits wondered whether this team deserved to be in the tournament. I'll leave those decisions to the selection committee, who clearly considered it seeing as how they gave the better team in this matchup the lower seed. Oklahoma may have only been 7-11 in the Big 12, but the Big 12 is a better conference than the SEC. Only two of Oklahoma's 13 losses on the year came to teams ranked outside KenPom's top 35, and those were both West Virginia. The Sooners have beaten better teams than Ole Miss and I like their odds of doing it again.
