Today's picks: Why Michigan will cover vs. UCLA, plus more college basketball, NBA and NHL picks for Tuesday

Jonathan Coachman assembles with super sports betting experts Mike McClure and Larry Hartstein on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. The team delivers powerful picks for college basketball, the NBA and the NHL for Tuesday, March 30. 

It's a short slate in the NBA, but Mike still has a lot of important injury updates on teams such as the Wizards, Sixers, Magic and Clippers. Larry then takes a look ahead to Saturday's Houston-Baylor matchup and gives a detailed breakdown of potential line movement. 

The Coach delivers the SportsLine Plays of the Day, boldly going with USC +8.5 over Gonzaga at 7:15 p.m. ET, detailing one big number that strongly supports his choice. In the NHL, he backs the Capitals -110 over the Rangers at 7 p.m. ET. 

Mike has helped the guys fashion an 8-2 run in the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight, so you should ride with his pick of Michigan -6.5 over UCLA at 9:57 p.m. ET. "I love Michigan and the way they play defensively. This is a legitimate Top 5 defense in the country," he says. "Now they are going to get a spot that they are very comfortable in, and that's a slower half court game. UCLA is definitely going to want to play a half court game like Michigan. I give the offensive and defensive rebounding edge to Michigan. They have Hunter Dickinson down low. I like Franz Wagner as well, I think he's very, very underrated."

Larry fully backs up Mike on his Michigan pick, as he says UCLA has not faced a post presence like Dickinson so far, and he will help set up very effective outside and deep shooting for the Wolverines. UCLA is going to face a much better opponent from three-point range in this matchup. Larry also supplies a pair of NBA player props, He is on Michael Porter Jr. over 23.5 points, assists and rebounds in Nuggets-Sixers at 9 p.m. ET. He is also expecting Devonte Graham to go under 5.5 assists in Hornets-Wizards at 7 p.m. ET.
