Jaguars vs. Titans NFL Week 14 odds: Trevor Lawrence practices Friday, expected to play; bettors split on spread

Jacksonville should have injured starting QB Trevor Lawrence on Sunday in Nashville.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback and former No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence hadn't practiced through Thursday due to a toe injury but has said he expects to play Sunday at the Tennessee Titans. Lawrence is at practice Friday, so he should be out there. This spread has waffled between Titans -4.5 and -3.5 all week and currently is -3.5 at Caesars Sportsbook. With the Lawrence news, it likely stays there.

Lawrence is 0-2 career vs. the Titans with one passing touchdown and five picks, but the former Clemson star has played better of late this year, with six touchdowns and zero interceptions over Jacksonville's past three games. His four straight games without a pick is a career-high streak. However, his 6-21 record as a starter is tied for the worst win-loss record by a No. 1 overall pick through 27 career starts with Jeff George. If for some reason Lawrence can't go or aggravates the issue Sunday, CJ Beathard is his backup.

There's interesting betting splits at the book, as 77.3% of the tickets are on the Titans – who shockingly fired mega-successful general manager Jon Robinson this week – but 51.6% of the money is on the Jaguars. Jacksonville is tied for the NFL's worst against-the-spread mark at 4-8. Tennessee's 8-4 mark is among the best.

The Titans have won five straight overall in this series by an average margin of 16.8 points and have won eight straight at home vs. the Jags. Since taking over as the Tennessee starting QB, Ryan Tannehill is 5-0 in this series (winning four of five by at least 18 points) with 12 total touchdowns, zero picks and a 125.3 passer rating.

Also in those five games, Jacksonville-area native Derrick Henry is averaging 147.0 rushing yards in the series with seven total TDs. He has 1,143 career rushing yards against the Jaguars, 124 yards shy of passing Eddie George for most rushing yards vs. Jacksonville all-time.

There's no individual over/under rushing yardage prop posted at the various books for Henry as of this writing, but the SportsLine Projection Model has him with 73 yards. That seems low. I'd guess the books eventually post a total of at least 80.
