Host Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts Mike McClure and Jon "Buckets" Eimer on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for Major League Baseball and soccer for Friday, Aug. 12.

Mike expects plenty of offensive fireworks tonight for New York when the Yankees open a series in Boston despite the Yankees losing eight of their last 10 games and totaling just three runs in thier past two. He is leaning Yankees Over 2.5 runs (-105) in the first five innings and Over 4.5 runs (-110) for the game as the Sox start Nathan Eovaldi, he of the 6.81 ERA and 1.60 WHIP at home:

"Always great when we get these Yankees team totals in favorable spots on the road (guaranteed ninth-inning at-bat). On the surface Eovaldi doesn't look horrible overall regarding weighted on-base average, but he's getting barreled up. A total of 103 pitchers so far have at least 250 batted-ball events against them, and Eovaldi ranks 102nd with a barrel rate of eight percent and average exit velocity of mover 90 mph, and he's clearly worse at home. The Yankees have 20 more home runs than any team in the majors." 

From France's Ligue 1 at 3 p.m. ET, Buckets is leaning Lille at Draw No Bet (-125) vs. Nantes: "This line infuriates me. Lille hasn't lost to Nantes since 2015 and they play multiple times every year. This is a great line as a safety net." 

Coach throws in an NFL preseason six-point teaser parlay from tonight's action: Jets-Eagles Under 42 points and Cardinals-Bengals Under 37 points at a price of -120. Coach is using the teaser to be safe, as NYJ-PHI is set at 36 and ARI-CIN at a minuscule 31.
