Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts Mike McClure, Martin Green and Allan Bell on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for Major League Baseball, soccer and the PGA for Sunday, Aug. 14.

Coach starts things off with the SportsLine Play of the Day: Over 7 runs (-110) in the Phillies-Mets game (1:40 p.m. ET). "In Chris Bassitt starts, the Mets are 65 percent to the Over," he says. "We thought this was a good place."

McClure is up next with a pair an MLB play of his own. He likes the Cardinals Over 2.5 runs in the first five innings (+120) against the Brewers (2:15 p.m. ET). "I'm going to pick on (Milwaukee's) Aaron Ashby just a little bit," Mike says. "Yes, he has some strikeout upside, but he is about as high variance as it gets with a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball, will often struggle to get through five full innings. … We know how well the St. Louis Cardinals crush left-handed pitching, No. 2 in MLB in terms of weighted on-base average, hitting with a lot of power, definitely near the bottom in terms of striking out."

Green follows with two soccer plays. The first is in the French Ligue 1: Marseille (-110) to defeat Brest (2:45 p.m. ET). "They've been ambitious in the transfer market this summer and they made a flying start to the new season," he says of Marseille. "They beat Stade de Reims 4-1 last weekend, so they're going to be full of confidence. … Seems like a bit of a mismatch to me. Marseilles beat Brest 4-1 on the road the last time these teams met. I think they can pull it off again today."

Martin's second play is a parlay in Serie A: Roma to win and go Over 1.5 goals (-125) in its match against Salernitana (2:45 p.m. ET). "Once again, I think there's a little bit of a gulf in class between Roma and Salernitana," he says. "Roma has a very impressive manager in Jose Mourinho. He's doing a pretty good job there, made some excellent signings this summer. I think they should just be too strong for Salernitana. … I can see Roma scoring a couple of goals in the game and getting the win."

Coach jumps in with four plays in the PGA's FedEx St. Jude Championship. The first is Sahith Theegala (+100) over Denny McCarthy (10:55 a.m. ET). "McCarthy came back to Earth on Saturday. I think the pressure of Sunday will be too much," he says. "Theegala, he's got that dog in him. Theegala is nasty, and he's going to be a big-time champion very, very shortly on the PGA Tour."

His second play is Tom Kim (+110) over Collin Morikawa (11:15 a.m. ET). "Tom Kim, the dude is a beast," he says. "He's tied right now with Collin Morikawa, but if you look at the three rounds, two players going in opposite directions."

Next, he likes Tony Finau (-150) over Brian Harman (11:40 a.m. ET). "He's won two weeks in a row, he could make it three today," he says. "He's only a couple back. … This is like putting an F1 driver against go-karts."

Coach's final play is Troy Merritt (+180) over Sungjae Im (12:20 p.m. ET). "Sungjae Im barely made the cut, right on the number," he says. "Then he had a really nice 63 yesterday. Other than that, the first two days, he was very, very ho-hum. I think today, he goes back to ho and hum."

Bell wraps things up with The AB Pick 3. He begins with two MLS plays: Both teams to score in the Nashville-Minnesota match (9 p.m. ET) and both teams to score in the Seattle-Real Salt Lake contest (10 p.m. ET). Allan's final play is in MLB: Over 3.5 runs for the Cardinals (-165) in the rubber match of their three-game series against the Brewers.
