Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts Allie O'Neill, Zack Cimini and Larry Hartstein on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for the NFL and Major League Baseball for Monday, Oct. 3.

Coach starts things off with the SportsLine Play of the Day, which is in MLB: The White Sox (-125) to beat the Twins in the opener of their season-ending three-game series (8:10 p.m. ET). "A team that's playing well to the finish line is the Chicago White Sox," he says. "They're playing the Twins, who have checked out. The White Sox, they took two of three in San Diego against a playoff team. They've won three of their last four, and we believe they will get it done at home against Minnesota."

O'Neill is up next with a play in MLB. She likes the Yankees (-155) to defeat the Rangers in the first contest of their four-game set that concludes the regular season (7:05 p.m. ET). "Luis Severino doesn't really get hit very hard," Allie says. "His main problem really comes from when he starts to struggle and gives up that home run, then everyone he walked scores. Overall, I'd say he's way more consistent than Martin Perez, who has been one of the Rangers' better pitchers. But in his last three starts, he has a 4.42 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. The Rangers have lost five straight and eight of their last nine."

Cimini follows with a prop bet on Monday Night Football. He likes Under 39.5 receiving yards for Los Angeles' Allan Robinson in the Rams-49ers matchup (8:15 p.m. ET). "(Matthew Stafford) is not targeting Allan Robinson," Zack says. "Only 12 targets this year, only seven catches overall for 88 yards. So under 30 yards receiving per game right now. This acquisition, bringing him in, is just not working out and I'm not sure what they're going to do because everyone else has worked out. But for some reason, Allan Robinson is not working out and I don't think that Matthew Stafford is going to look his way tonight."

Hartstein jumps in with a pair of MNF plays. First, he likes the 49ers (-1.5) to cover against the Rams. "You look at Jimmy Garoppolo, he has to play better. He cannot step out of the end zone, he cannot miss Deebo Samuel wide open for a touchdown or underthrow Deebo Samuel," he says. "I think he'll play better at home, he's gotten more time to get those reps, which he missed all summer.

"(The 49ers) give up 2.8 yards per rush. I believe (Rams coach) Sean McVay will be stubborn and try to run it anyway. They give up the lowest yards per play. This defense is totally elite. … It's not going to be pretty, I do think it'll be about 20-17 or 23-20, but I love the 49ers, after they got embarrassed last week on national television, to come back at home."

Larry's second play is Over 48.5 receiving yards for San Francisco's Brandon Aiyuk (-113). "Eight targets the last three games with Jimmy G. This is his favorite target," he says. "In fact, since the middle of last season, no receiver on the 49ers was targeted more than Brandon Aiyuk. … A lot of receivers have been going off against this Rams team. They are not the elite defense that we think of anymore."

Coach wraps things up with a pair of MLB plays. He likes the Braves (-150) to beat the Marlins (6:40 p.m. ET) and the Rays (-140) to defeat the Red Sox (7:10 p.m. ET).
