L.A. Dodgers -130

WIN

ANALYSIS: There’s no doubt Joe Musgrove has pitched very well this season, but the Dodgers offense should put him to the test. After dropping the first two games of the series in Colorado, the Dodgers closed out the series with an 8-4 win, and should ride that momentum home tonight. Los Angeles has won 11 of the last 12 games against San Diego. Expect the Dodgers offense to outshine the Padres pitching.

Tampa Bay 1 @ Toronto 4 | 06/30 | 11:07 PM UTC

Toronto -143

WIN

ANALYSIS: Jeez, anything going on in sports today? USC/UCLA to Big Ten, Kevin Durant to Heat or Suns (most likely -- see news feed). Just waiting on Deshaun Watson suspension news to break to complete the trifecta -- although knowing the NFL, that will be a Friday 4:56 p.m. ET news dump. Had no interest in this matchup if Jeffrey Springs (2.25 ERA) was starting for the Rays as was thought to happen, but he was placed on the family medical emergency list and now it will be Matt Wisler serving as an opener and Ryan Yarbrough (0-3, 5.65) as the bulk guy. Not a Yarbrough fan and he's been in Triple-A for three-plus weeks. Not a big fan of Toronto's Yusei Kikuchi (2-4, 5.08), either, but now I do think the Jays win at home. Tampa is also down two relievers on the restricted list and one of the team's better hitters, Ji-Man Choi, is on the bench. The Rays are 2-8 in road series openers and have lost six straight.

N.Y. Yankees -128

LOSS

ANALYSIS: I don't recommend betting against the Astros at home often, but as I expected both Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Pena are out of the lineup (see news feed) after they collided on Wednesday -- plus, remember, Michael Brantley is on the injured list. The Yankees clearly have the better lineup today and also should have the "Luis" pitching edge with Severino over Garcia.

Cincinnati 110

LOSS

ANALYSIS: Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks is coming off a masterful outing against the Cardinals but struggled in late May against the Reds, giving up four runs in four innings in a 4-3 loss. I'm taking the Reds to grab the series finale as a slight underdog.

N.Y. Yankees -130

LOSS

ANALYSIS: No Michael Brantley, Jeremy Pena, or Yordan Alvarez today for the Astros. This is a weird one game series so the only thing that worries me is the Yankees resting players or flying twice in two days. However, Luis Garcia is 3-2 with a 5.18 ERA at home this season and the Astros bullpen couldn't get a save for the life of them against the Yankees last series. Luis Severino just pitched a quality start against the Astros but will have a watered down lineup tonight. Im not going to overthink this one.

Atlanta 4 @ Philadelphia 14 | 06/30 | 10:05 PM UTC

Philadelphia -160

WIN

ANALYSIS: I like the Phillies to avoid the home sweep here behind their ace. Aaron Nola has looked like himself again and the Phillies have their full bullpen available. Kenley Jansen is still unavailable for the Braves and Ian Anderson is coming off a tough start. He should struggle again against a Phillies team that has seen him in division play. He also has multiple walks in seven of his last eight games. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see the Braves give a player or two the day off. Take the Phillies at home.

Milwaukee 7 @ Pittsburgh 8 | 06/30 | 11:05 PM UTC

Milwaukee -120

LOSS

ANALYSIS: The Brewers have won four straight and nine of 12 overall as they visit Pittsburgh for the start of a four-game series. They're 6-0 against the Pirates this season and sport a five-game win streak in Pittsburgh. Adrian Houser has been shaky this year with a 4.50 ERA but has a strong history versus Pittsburgh, including a 2.25 ERA and sub-1.00 WHIP in his last five matchups. The Brewers rank sixth in OPS against right-handers (.736), while the Pirates rank 26th (.660). Lay the reasonable price.

Chi. White Sox 1 @ L.A. Angels 4 | 06/30 | 1:38 AM UTC

L.A. Angels -1.5

WIN

ANALYSIS: Shohei Ohtani has been fantastic on the mound. He has allowed just one run over his last three starts and the Angels won all three of those games by at least three runs. This White Sox lineup is a combined 0/10 against Ohtani. White Sox starter Michael Kopech has been struggling. Over his last two starts he has allowed seven runs. Laying the extra run with the Angels at +115.

Minnesota 6 @ Cleveland 7 | 06/29 | 11:10 PM UTC

Cleveland -124

WIN

ANALYSIS: I was going to call it a day with a 2-1 winning afternoon (presuming Seattle doesn't collapse) but now feel obligated to bet this one. The line has risen from a pick'em because no Carlos Correa or Byron Buxton for the Twins, and that's obviously a pretty important duo. Hopefully we get the the Al Bundy "take me to your finest bathroom!" version of Dylan Bundy on the mound instead of the occasionally dominant one. Dylan has a 6.82 road ERA. Dating to last season, I've played Cleveland's Cal Quantrill at home often and it usually pays off -- he's 3-0 with a 3.21 ERA there this year.

Minnesota 6 @ Cleveland 7 | 06/29 | 11:10 PM UTC

Cleveland -110

WIN

ANALYSIS: No Carlos Correa or Byron Buxton for the Twins while the Guardians have their full lineup in. Cal Quantrill struggled a bit two outings ago but he has been very consistent all season and the Twins have yet to see him this year. Dylan Bundy has been dominant in his past two starts but those were against two poor offenses. I think this is a tough matchup for him and I like the Guardians bullpen more than the Twins. Take the Guardians at home.

Baltimore 3 @ Seattle 9 | 06/29 | 8:10 PM UTC

Seattle -140

WIN

ANALYSIS: You pretty much know what to expect from Seattle's Chris Flexen: 5-6 innings and 2-3 runs allowed -- although he does have eight starts with at least 7.0 innings pitched and no more than one run allowed since the start of 2021, the most in the American League during that span. Plus, Mariners relief pitchers lead the majors in ERA (0.74) over their last nine games. Can that lousy Seattle offense score at least four today? Off Baltimore's Austin Voth (7.81 ERA), I sure hope so. Seattle is 30-10 (.750) when scoring at least four runs this year.

Chi. White Sox 1 @ L.A. Angels 4 | 06/30 | 1:38 AM UTC

Chi. White Sox 170

LOSS

ANALYSIS: I think this line is way too high for a team that is 36-41 and 9-18 in their last 27 games. The Angels are under .500 at home at 20-23 and the White Sox are actually better on the road at 19-17. Shohei Ohtani has been very good and I think he will pitch well again tonight, but the Angels bullpen is very susceptible. Michael Kopech is also more than capable of throwing a gem at any time so I love the value in the White Sox here.
