2001 SEASON

All-Southland Football League first-team selection and Newcomer of the Year…Recipient of the Joe Delaney Leadership Award and named the team's Offensive MVP…Set a school season-record with 2022 yards on 142 of 250 passes (56.8%) with 11 touchdowns and only three interceptions…Scored once on 49 carries…His 2022 yards broke the previous school mark of 1966 by Scott Stoker in 1988.

  • Southern -- Connected on 21 of 36 tosses for a career-high 346 yards (second-highest game total in school history) and a 69-yard score.
  • Texas Christian -- Ran for a 4-yard score and connected on 18 of 35 passes for 326 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
  • Sam Houston State -- Threw for 268 yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 of 34 tries.
  • Elon and Nicholls State -- Did not play (knee sprain).
  • Jacksonville State -- Returned to action with 17 of 23 attempts for 338 yards (sixth-best game total in school history) and 3 touchdowns, including a 65-yarder.
  • Southwest Texas -- Gained 178 yards on 13 of 23 chances.
  • McNeese State -- Hit on 21 of 37 passes for 229 yards and a score.
  • Stephen F. Austin -- Added 213 yards on 17 of 26 tosses with a 51-yard score.

2000 SEASON

Started two games, including the 1999 season opener, in three seasons at LSU...Career stats were 431 yards passing on 35 of 79 accuracy with 4 interceptions in 14 games... Played 8 games as the No. 2 QB behind Herb Tyler in 1998, including starting the season finale vs. Arkansas (15-30-1, 147 yards) after a strong performance in relief in a narrow loss at Notre Dame (4-9, 70 yards)...The steadiest performer in a three-way preseason competition also involving Josh Booty and Rohan Davey, Nall started the '99 opener against San Jose State (6-15-2, 79 yards), played QB in another game...Volunteered to move to receiver when injuries depleted that position, and he played in four games there during his sophomore season...Played in one game in 2000 and missed last six games with a broken thumb...Redshirted in 1997.


TRACK

Finished 14th for Northwestern in the javelin at the 2001 NCAA Championships after taking second with a 227-11 throw at the 2001 Southland Conference Championships...16th in the 2000 NCAA Championships for LSU...Had a personal best 229-2 throw for second at the Southeastern Conference Championships.
