Big physical tackle has been a four-year starter at the Division I-AA level. Grant has a huge frame and good mobility, and has also performed as a strong forward on the Pine-Bluff basketball team as a junior.
He has improved each season both from a technique and instinct standpoint while gaining valuable playing experience. As a senior, he made 53 tackles with 8 TFLs and 3 sacks while being double teamed over most of the season. He earned first team All-SWAC for his effort.
He has some quickness on the snap but struggles changing directions or redirecting himself. He does get the penetration to disrupt things in the middle and can be an effective bull rusher in pass defense.
Despite his big frame and quick footwork, he is still raw in many aspects of line play and needs work especially on his hand use to gain a quicker advantage getting to the ball. He also needs better use of his huge wingspan to deflect passes and disrupt the QB's throwing lanes.
Intriguing late pick with some upside if he works to improve his overall technique and strength.
