PROJECTED STARTING LINEUP: Offense -- QB Paul Troth, RB Art Brown, HB Terrance Cooper, WR SE Richard Alston, FL Torrey Morris, TE Ben Thomas, LT Brian Rimpf, RT Brandon Pope, LG Corey Schmidt, RG Brian Fox, C Doug White.
Defense -- DT Damane Duckett, NT Ronald Pou, DT Ja'Waren Blair, OLB John Williamson, OLB Christshawn Gilliam, ILB Chris Moore, ILB Eric Butler, CB Jerome Steward, CB Donald Whitehead, SS Travis Heath, FS Kelly Hardy.
MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER
QB Paul Troth -- This is a quarterback-oriented offense in a quarterback-oriented conference, and Troth's successes, failures and his ability to handle pressure will play a huge part in how far the Pirates go this season.
BREAKOUT STAR
RB-PR Marvin Townes -- If he can do a better job of hanging on to the ball, Townes has the speed and quickness to do great things with it.
MEDICAL WATCH
Injuries to several receivers, including Terrance Cooper, Damarcus Fox, Marcus White, Richard Alston, Torey Morris and Edwin Rios -- limited ECU's passing game in the spring. While everyone but Fox (knee) should be back in time for preseason practice, the Pirates have a lot of work to do to make up for lost time.
