NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Keith Bogans hit five 3-pointers and scored 23
points as No. 15 Kentucky beat South Carolina 78-65 Friday in the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
The Wildcats (20-9) clinched their 11th consecutive 20-win season and a berth in the semifinals Saturday.
Kentucky, which shared the regular season title with Florida, had little trouble against South Carolina (15-14).
The Wildcats didn't shoot as well as they did on Feb. 3, when they handed fifth-seeded South Carolina its worst loss ever in Columbia, 94-61. Kentucky scored 10 of the first 12 points and never trailed in handing the Gamecocks their 10th straight loss in this series.
Jason Parker added 14 and Gerald Fitch had 10 for Kentucky, which has won seven of the last nine SEC Tournament championships and 22 overall. Tayshaun Prince, the league's player of the year, scored just 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting.
The Gamecocks were trying to reach the semifinals for the fourth time in five years, but could only get within six in the first half, the last time at 31-25
on a bucket by Rolando Howell with 1:35 to go before Kentucky opened up a 34-25
halftime lead.

Matt Bonner had 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Brett
Nelson added 19 points as No. 5 Florida beat Alabama 69-61 to
advance to the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament.
Udonis Haslem added 12 points for second-seeded Florida (23-5), which has
won 12 of its past 13 and eight in a row.
The Gators, who won a share of the SEC regular-season title, play No. 14
Mississippi in the semifinals on Saturday. The Rebels beat Tennessee 86-73 in
the quarterfinals.
Travis Stinnett scored 11 points, and Rod Grizzard and Erwin Dudley each had
10 for third-seeded Alabama (21-10), which beat Vanderbilt 78-59 in the first
round.
Alabama trailed by as many as 12 in the first half but cut it to 44-42 with
an 8-3 run capped by Dudley's jumper with 16:03 to go. It was the closest the
Crimson Tide could get.
Florida reeled off six unanswered points to restore its lead to 50-42 four
minutes later.
Dudley had a chance to cut it back to two, but he missed the front end of a
one-and-one. Nelson then hit a jumper, and Teddy Dupay had a 3-pointer to put
the Gators ahead 58-49 with 6:02 remaining.
Aaron Harper scored 21 points, and Rahim Lockhart added 17 as No. 14 Mississippi beat Tennessee to advance to the
semifinals of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Jason Holmes had 14 points for the top-seeded Rebels (24-6), who led almost the entire way.
The Volunteers (22-10) cut the lead to six twice in the final 1:06, but Ole Miss went 10-of-10 from the foul line in the last 50 seconds to hold off Tennessee.
The Vols, who beat Auburn 73-66 in the first round for their fourth straight
victory, remain the only SEC school that hasn't reached the semifinals since
the league expanded to 12 teams in 1992.
Ron Slay scored 20 points, and Isiah Victor had 10 for Tennessee.
Harper was 9-of-10 from the free throw line, and Lockhart grabbed 11 rebounds for Mississippi.
Tennessee got as close as four in the second half when Jenis Grindstaff hit
a 3 and again after he made two free throws to trim the margin to 54-50 with 7:48 left.
But Holmes' 3-pointer put Ole Miss back up by seven 20 seconds later.
Victor scored with 4:37 left to cut it to 61-55, but Lockhart scored and Harper hit a 3 to push the lead back to 11 just a minute later.
Slay tried to rally Tennessee late with eight points in a 1:30 span. His basket with 1:06 left cut it to 74-68, but Ole Miss was still in control.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Joe Johnson scored 27 points and Teddy Gipson added
13 as Arkansas rallied from an 18-point first-half deficit in beating LSU 77-72 Friday night in the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
The Razorbacks (20-9) gave coach Nolan Richardson 20 victories for the 12th
time in his 16 seasons and another trip to the semifinals where they will play
No. 15 Kentucky, a 78-65 winner over South Carolina, on Saturday afternoon.
They have missed the semifinals only once since their first SEC Tournament
in 1992.
The defending champions had a bye in the opening round as the No. 2 seed
from the West and looked rusty, while LSU (13-16) tried to notch its second
straight upset in the tournament.
The Tigers hit four straight 3s to open the game. But with only five healthy
scholarship players, they hit only three more the rest of the way and couldn't
keep up with the deeper Razorbacks.
The Razorbacks opened the second half with a 15-6 run capped by a Jannero
Pargo layup with 12:14 that tied it up at 44. Gipson then gave Arkansas its
first lead at 46-45 with a pair of free throws.
It went back and forth before Johnson's 3 put Arkansas ahead to stay at
54-51 with 9:21 to go. He added a couple more 3-pointers as Arkansas padded its
lead down the stretch.
