Germany picks hard court for Davis Cup match against Spain

HAMBURG, Germany (AP) -Germany has picked Rebound Ace as the indoor surface for its Davis Cup quarterfinal against Spain.

The hard court surface had been used at the Australian Open until this year.

"We've had some good experience with this surface and that's why we decided to use it again in the match against Spain," Germany's Davis Cup captain Patrik Kuehnen said Wednesday.

Germany beat Croatia on the same surface in last year's first round and went on to reach the semifinals.

Second-ranked Rafael Nadal is expected to play in the April 11-13 tie in Bremen. His strongest surface is clay.
