Jokinen: "Probably that cheerleading actually originated at the University of Minnesota."
SPiN: How long have you been cheerleading?
Jokinen: "For three years. I started at Northern Michigan University. I tried out with a friend who didn't want to try out by herself. We both made it."
SPiN: What's the best thing about cheerleading?
Jokinen: "Getting dressed and doing crazy things, like stuff you can't do by yourself. It's a rush."
SPiN: What's the hardest thing about cheerleading?
Jokinen: "Trying to keep everybody pumped up and motivated when things aren't going good. Minnesota had a rough season this year."
SPiN: What's the most irritating cheerleader stereotype?
Jokinen: "That we're stupid. I'm the smartest person I know. I'm just joking." (Laughs)
SPiN: Do you plan on cheerleading as a profession after college?
Jokinen: "This is just something I do for fun now. I plan on traveling the world after I graduate."
SPiN: What's your favorite movie/TV show about cheerleaders?
Jokinen: "I just started cheerleading, but my favorite would be ... I don't think I have one."
SPiN: If Hollywood made a cheerleading movie and you were the star, what actress would play you?
Jokinen: "I have no idea. I think Reese Witherspoon, I'm told I look like her. We have similar chins -- I don't know if that's a good or bad thing."
SPiN: What do you think about Bring It On?
Jokinen: "I've never in my life competed for cheerleading, but as far as cheerleaders go, it's very inaccurate. I give it four stars because it was entertaining."
SPiN: Who's the best looking athlete in sports and why?
Jokinen: "Well, before he left the Detroit Red Wings, it was Sergei Fedorov."
SPiN: What's the most difficult routine you've done as a cheerleader?
Jokinen: "I would imagine it would be basket tosses. A basket toss is where three-to-four guys throw the girl into the air, the girl does a few flips and the guys would catch her. I've done a few and I think they're hard. They're more scary than hard. The first couple are usually interesting."
SPiN: Who's the most famous person you've met?
Jokinen: "I don't know his name, but in Europe, I met a famous soccer player and we didn't find out who he was until later, when someone showed us his photo in a newspaper."
SPiN: What's your favorite cheer to fire up the home crowd in a close game?
Jokinen: "'Ski-u-mah.' [sic] It means victory for the U of M. It was an old battle cry they used to use."
SPiN: Why should our readers vote for you?
Jokinen: "If they're fans of cheerleaders, they should give a little love to the place it all began ... Minnesota!"
