COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP)-Soren Larsen scored twice and Daniel Agger got another to give Denmark a 3-0 win Saturday over Malta in a World Cup qualifying match.
Toulouse striker Larsen got the opening goal in the 9th minute, Agger added a second from a penalty kick in the 28th and Larsen headed a third goal in the 46th.
A goal in the 66th minute by Dennis Rommedahl was canceled because he was offside.
The Danes easily controlled the Group A game, constantly testing Malta goalkeeper Justin Haber.
Malta's Michael Mifsud had several shots at Denmark goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen but without troubling the Stoke player. In the 73rd minute, Roderick Briffa sent the ball over for the visitors.
Denmark played without key strikers Jon Dahl Tomasson and Nicklas Bendtner, who both had ankle injuries, and Martin Jorgensen who was out because of the flu.
