MANCHESTER, England (AP) -Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez is likely to miss his team's FA Cup match at Aston Villa on Saturday after he bruised his ankle on New Year's Day.
Tevez scored and hit the post twice before he was substituted in the 71st minute of Tuesday's 1-0 Premier League win over Birmingham.
The club was concerned that Tevez was badly injured from a first-half tackle, but said Wednesday that he should return to action soon.
Wayne Rooney may be fit to return to the team on Saturday after recovering from a virus and could replace Tevez.
