MUNICH, Germany (AP) -Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm will be sidelined for several weeks after injuring his left knee in training with the German national team.
Lahm pulled ligaments in his left knee Thursday and was sent home. Germany plays Wales in a European Championship qualifider in Cardiff on Saturday.
"My shoe got stuck in grass, I thought the worst," Lahm said Friday.
Bayern said Lahm could return in early October if the healing process goes without a hitch.
