Arraignment of ex-Cardinals utilityman Spiezio pushed to April 7

ST. LOUIS -- Scott Spiezio will be arraigned on drunk driving and other charges April 7.

The former St. Louis Cardinals utilityman was scheduled to be arraigned in a Newport Beach, Calif., courtroom on Wednesday, but the case was postponed, a court clerk said.

Spiezio will be arraigned on six charges that include driving under the influence, hit and run, aggravated assault and battery.

On Dec. 30, Spiezio crashed his car, fled from the scene and then beat up a friend who tried to help him, police said.

The Cardinals released Spiezio in February after the charges were revealed.
