Sorenstam expected to stay involved in tournament

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -The director of Annika Sorenstam's upcoming LPGA tournament does not expect the star's retirement to affect her involvement in the Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika.

Sorenstam announced Tuesday that she would step away from the tour after this season. The Ginn Tribute is in its second season.

Tournament director Becky Newell said the tournament is scheduled for two more years in Mount Pleasant after that, and expects Sorenstam to stay active and involved in making it a success.

The Ginn Tribute is set to tee off in two weeks. Last week, Sorenstam had a dominating victory at the LPGA Tour's Michelob Ultra Open.
