It's all about taking the steps that will continue the improvement in Philadelphia.

Temple won four games last year, all of the wins coming in its first year in the MAC, and coach Al Golden faced the spring looking for more answers with the hope of improving on the 4-8 final record.

He went through spring with No. 1 quarterback Adam DiMichele still rehabbing the broken leg that shut him down early last year. He took a look at what he hopes will be a new and more productive running game but was quick to point out that what he sees in the spring is not what he'll see when fall camp opens up.

"We have a lot of guys right now that we're trying to force into roles, and when you play cherry versus white, you're playing a lot of guys who either wouldn't get into a game or are playing a more than they would," Golden said after the spring game.

In other words, let's see what happens when the Owls return.

DiMichele was showing real signs of leadership when he got hurt, but sophomore Vaughn Charlton has played so much that the coaching staff has to feel comfortable with either of them in the game.
