RedHawks report: Inside slant
This spring is about seek -- and the RedHawks hope -- find at Miami. Miami is searching for offensive playmakers. The RedHawks return their entire defensive unit, which ranked first in the MAC. Most of the question marks are on the other side of the ball. Can quarterback Daniel Raudabaugh be more consistent and accurate? He threw 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions as a sophomore last season. Can the running backs stay healthy? Miami lost its top two tailbacks to season-ending injuries last year. Thomas Merriweather, Andre Bratton and freshman Dan Green will fight for carries. And who can replace center Steve Meister? With four talented receivers back, Miami should put up more points this fall. A substantial offensive improvement would probably mean a bowl appearance for the RedHawks, who barely missed out in last year's 6-7 season. Copyright (C) 2008 The Sports Xchange.
