--C John Estes has been named to the watch list for the Outland Trophy. The junior has started all 27 games during his career and he was named to the All-WAC first team last year.

--LB Solomon Elimimian was named to the All-WAC first team last year. The middle linebacker led the team with 141 tackles, including 12 for loss, and is one of the leading contenders for the WAC Defensive Player of the Year award.

SPRING MOVERS

QB Inoke Funaki -- The junior made a charge during spring ball, proving that he is a serious contender for the starting job. His mobility could give the Warriors offense an added dimension.

RB Jake Heun -- The 6-foot-1, 255-pound junior impressed coaches with his power. He is a transfer from City College of San Francisco and he fits the profile of a Hawaii running back -- thick and tough.

WR Joe Avery -- The 6-foot-5 freshman stood out with his size and athleticism, two traits that pay dividends as an outside receiver in the run-and-shoot. He had trouble with drops, though, and might be a year away from making a big impact.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We had some talented, veteran guys, and they were allowed to ad-lib a little more. We're going to tighten things up a little bit." -- Hawaii coach Greg McMackin, telling the Star-Bulletin how this year's offense will differ from last year.
