--Though there likely will be more shuffling and changes to the depth chart as the fall progresses, the starters across the offensive line coming out of the spring were junior Cory Lambert and sophomore Chris Hairston at the tackle spots, junior Jamarcus Grant and freshman Wilson Norris at guards, and junior Thomas Austin at center.

--A year ago this time, incoming freshman Willy Korn was considered a serious challenger for the starting role at quarterback with then-junior Cullen Harper an inexperienced mystery. But Harper's record-setting season and Korn's season-ending injury ended that speculation early. Korn got a medical redshirt and is still listed as a freshman for 2008 behind Harper. He was 14 of 25 passing in the spring game for 117 yards with one interception.

SPRING MOVERS

WR Xavier Dye -- The sophomore convinced his coaches that he eventually will become Clemson's primary threat at receiver when Aaron Kelly leaves. He had six catches, one for a touchdown, in the spring game.

DE Da'Quan Bowers -- The heralded freshman recruit had an impressive spring and could pass returning veteran Kevin Alexander to replace the departed Phillip Merling.

WR Marquan Jones -- Jones is another true freshman who got the benefit of spring practice after enrolling early. He faces a lot of competition but still could get on the field if injuries strike the position.

LB Scotty Cooper -- The sophomore solidified his hold on the starting spot on the strong side.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I've got some questions concerning the offensive line with them being so young. That will be a concern, especially with such a quality opponent in our opener. But, with our returners and leaders, I feel good about the season." -- Coach Tommy Bowden, looking at the 2008 season, which begins with a game at Atlanta against Alabama.
