--QB Nate Davis is poised for a big season in 2008 after starting the past two seasons and breaking nearly every record in the Ball State book. If Davis progresses at a rate like last year, he could consider early entry into the NFL draft.

--TE Darius Hill is rated as an NFL draft prospect for 2009. In order to better prepare himself for the next level, the senior focused on adding weight (eight pounds) to his frame this spring.

SPRING MOVERS

MLB Davyd Jones -- The sophomore made a big impression this spring with his competitiveness and instincts for the game. He'll compete with Wendell Brown in the fall for a starting job.

WR Daniel Ifft -- He got his feet wet last year as a true freshman and now has a chance to become a key threat in the Cardinals' potent passing attack. Ifft is a precise route-runner who makes catches.

TB Cory Sykes -- Starter MiQuale Lewis is coming off ACL surgery, and backup Frank Edmonds didn't show much durability when he took over for Lewis in the fifth game last year. Sykes impressed during the spring and could contend for playing time next year.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"You anticipate the season every year, but I think it's higher this year, especially for the offense. We've accomplished some things, and we can use last year as a steppingstone. Our goal is to win, and win the league." -- Ball State C Dan Gerberry on the team's expectations.
