FINAL RECORD
19-15 overall, 11-7 NEC (tied fourth place)
WHAT WENT RIGHT
The Mountaineers came from a fourth-place tie in the regular season to the NEC title and their third trip to the NCAA Tournament. They then went out and scored a play-in victory over Coppin State for the first Big Dance win before losing to North Carolina. Milan Brown brought along a group that continued to get better, winning the last six before falling to UNC.
WHAT WENT WRONG
Hard to really find anything. The Mountaineers would have liked to have been better than 8-7 at home (MSM was 10-7 on the road). They were outrebounded on the season, but not by a major margin. They also failed to come back from any halftime deficits through the entire season.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"Winning the NEC championship, I think that's one of the highlights, and making it to the NCAA Tournament. It means a lot to me and the program. ... For me to do it in my senior year, it makes it that much greater." -- Mount St. Mary's guard Chris Vann, who went out with a bang by going to the NCAA Tournament.
