The Islanders say they're just taking it easy with their franchise player, but the reports leaking out of the locker room are suggesting there might be more to this story. You should definitely consider benching him for Fantasy Week 2 (Oct. 13-20) at this point. Stay tuned to this story, as more should come out over the next couple of days.

Advice

DiPietro underwent surgery on his right hip in March after his left one was operated on after the 2006-07 playoffs. The goaltender hasn't played an NHL game since March 15, but skated with teammates Friday morning and is expected to get the start Monday when the Islanders finish their preseason schedule at Florida. He went 26-28-7 with a 2.82 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage in 63 starts last season.
