Jokinen dealt to Phoenix: The Florida Panthers traded captain Olli Jokinen to the Phoenix Coyotes for defensemen Nick Boynton and Keith Ballard and a second-round pick on Friday night during the NHL draft. In Jokinen, the Coyotes get a top forward who has scored at least 70 points in each of the last three seasons. The Finnish star had his best season in 2006-07, when he scored 39 goals and added 52 assists in 82 games. (Updated 06/20/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Jokinen had been with the Panthers since the 2000-01 season after brief stints with Los Angeles and the New York Islanders, but according to reports he had recently asked for a trade. The 29-year-old center has two years and $10.75 million left on his contract. He wasn't happy in Jacques Martin's boring offense, but even with a new coach in place, it appears as though he just wanted a fresh slate. This is a great move for both the Coyotes and Jokinen. Phoenix was one star player away from being a contender in 2007-08 and now they got their guy. Also, Jokinen will be playing with better talent in Phoenix surrounded by the likes of Shane Doan, Peter Mueller, Daniel Carcillo and Kyle Turris. Head coach Wayne Gretzky will welcome Jokinen with open arms and he will remain a high-end Fantasy forward. (Updated 06/20/2008).
