Dolphins report: Notes, quotes
--Defensive end Jason Taylor was acquired by the Redskins in exchange for a second-round pick in 2009 and a sixth-round pick in 2010. It ends an offseason-long drama surrounding Taylor, who never meshed with new team president Bill Parcells. With Taylor out of the picture, Quentin Moses and Charlie Anderson are expected to compete for the starting weak-side job. Moses is making the switch from defensive end. --Rookie DE --Dolphins coach Tony Sparano seem to take umbrage with the overwhelming belief around the league that Bill Parcells will be calling the shots this year during a recent radio interview on WQAM-560. "They should come by the facility and take a look at me rolling out of there in the late evening and coming in the early morning. Those things don't bother me. I know what goes on in the office. Myself, Jeff (Ireland) and Bill make our decisions together. I know what's happening out there. My team knows what's happening. That's what important to me, that the guys on the field know what's happening out there and where it's coming from," Sparano said. --QB Chad Henne told his local paper that he popped the question to longtime girlfriend Brittany Hartman, and the couple is now engaged. "She thought I was joking around. But I was like, 'No, I don't think so,' " Henne told the Reading (Pa.) Eagle. --GM Jeff Ireland isn't done remaking the Dolphins roster. "I think we've accomplished as much as we can at this point. But it's not over yet," Ireland said during a recent radio interview on WQAM-560. "If a player comes available that can help us, I can promise you we'll pick that player up." The Dolphins have shown interest in former Browns center LeCharles Bentley. --The Dolphins may not be pretty to watch but their cheerleaders are. For the second time, Dolphins cheerleader Lilly, will go to New York and pose for the Fall NFL Preview issue of Maxim Magazine. "The first time I was in the magazine was as a rookie back in 2006," Lilly said. "I had just made the team and the next thing I know I'm on my way to New York for the photo shoot. It was such a crazy experience, but I think it turned out well. I'm hopeful that the photos will be just as beautiful this time." QUOTE TO NOTE Copyright (C) 2008 The Sports Xchange.
