--The Bills were able to add a big receiver in the later rounds of the draft with the selection of former Kentucky standout Steve Johnson, who is listed at 6-2, 210 pounds. Johnson, a junior college product out of Chabot College, made the most out of his two years at Kentucky, catching 60 passes for 1,041 yards and 13 TDs as a senior. He had game-winning catches against Louisville and LSU.

"I take it as making the best out of my opportunity," he said, something he'll have to do with the Bills as well. "Coming from high school to junior college you've got to seize every opportunity that you get. When I went to Kentucky my first year, I had 12 catches in the season. So I understood I had to make the best out of every opportunity. Turn that 5-yard catch into a 15. Make the best out of all your opportunities and take care of my responsibility on the field."

--Former Bills QB Frank Reich is pursuing a coaching job in the NFL, perhaps with the Indianapolis Colts where former GM Bill Polian and teammate Pete Metzelaars work. He told the Lebanon, Pa., Daily News, "I was in the (Indianapolis) Colts training camp last year as an internship, was just invited back for minicamp and OTAs (organized team activities), which go about a month. I'll go there May 16, be there for a month. No guarantees after that, but hopefully it's another step in the right direction to connecting with a job in the NFL."

--As expected, at least one Bills game was part of the package of tapes submitted to the NFL by former New England video assistant Matt Walsh during the league's investigation into "Spygate." The Patriots' illegal taping of opponents included their home game against the Bills on Nov. 11, 2001 won by New England 21-11. It's worth noting Buffalo out-gained New England 242-205 that day. The Patriots then won the rematch on Dec. 16 at Buffalo 12-9, out-gaining the Bills 335-310.

--Linebacker John DiGiorgio went back to Saginaw Valley State to earn his degree in teaching this offseason. Meanwhile, rookie seventh-round draft pick Demetrius Bell continues to give fans more reasons to like him (besides being abandoned by his biological father, former NBA star Karl Malone, when he was young), earning his degree in general studies last week from Northwestern State. The school issued a touching photo of Bell and Northwestern State basketball coach Mike McConathy, who supported Bell's decision to pursue football.

--According to ESPN, the Bills have roughly $5.3 million in rookie pool money to sign their 10 draft picks with. It will go fast but there are loopholes a plenty to get all of Buffalo's picks into camp on time.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"They can share it. They've got to give me some time because I've been doing it for the past four years. I like to make things happen for the offense to give them great field position. Even though I'm a defensive player, I just like the ball in my hands." -- Rookie CB Leodis McKelvin, the Bills' No. 1 pick, when asked about returning kicks and punts, jobs that are held now by record-setters Terrence McGee and Roscoe Parrish.

Last year we went 4-2 in the division, sweeping both the Jets and Fish.  This year I think we have to repeat atleast a 4-2 divisional record to get into playoffs.  I don't think we will get a win against the Pats unless they don't play all their starters in week 17, so do you guys think we can sweep the Jets and ...(more)

Can any of you Buffalo Bills fans help me get this straight?  In watching my favorite team compete, since the great Dick Jauron took over, I have noticed an amazing parallel to the Chicago Bears of the Jauron era.

I am always willing to give the benefit of the doubt ...(more)
