Are you mock-drafted to death yet?
Thought so.
So how about a mock with a twist? Instead of a mock trying to guess where players may land, what about a mock that's made up of where the players should go?
It's always fun to analyze the needs of teams and then predict what they might do. No matter how much information you have, though, it's still a guessing game. That's why I think it's more fun trying to tell the teams what to do.
So on the eve of the draft here's my "Should-Do" Mock Draft. When you're done reading it, go ahead and start the rip jobs.
I know it's coming. After all, I have Brian Brohm going third to the Atlanta Falcons.
1. Miami Dolphins: Jake Long, T, Michigan. They got it right. Of course, they now have to decide if John Beck is the answer at quarterback or get one in the second round.
2. St. Louis Rams: Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU. He's their highest-rated player. Stay true to the board and take him. Dorsey and Adam Carriker will be a nice tandem inside.
3. Atlanta Falcons: Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville. They need a quarterback. He's my highest-rated quarterback. It makes sense. You'll see how right I am about Brohm in three years.
4. Oakland Raiders: Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas. Those runners they have aren't in the same class as McFadden. He is a game-breaker.
5. Kansas City Chiefs: Chris Long, DE, Virginia. They replace Jared Allen with a similar player who is cheaper and younger -- with no baggage.
6. New York Jets: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College. At some point they have to find their franchise passer. Have they been looking since the Namath days?
7. New England Patriots (From San Francisco): Keith Rivers, LB, USC. They are old and slow at linebacker. Rivers is young and fast.
8. Baltimore Ravens: Chad Henne, QB, Michigan. Too high? Maybe. But they have to address the quarterback situation and I really like Henne.
9. Cincinnati Bengals: Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC. They need to tighten up that run defense and Ellis could do that. He'd also help get pressure from the inside.
10. New Orleans Saints: Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy. Their corners are average at best. McKelvin can fly, and he's also a return man.
11. Buffalo Bills: Devin Thomas, WR, Michigan State. If Trent Edwards is going to succeed, they need to give him more weapons. Thomas will help take the double off Lee Evans.
12. Denver Broncos: Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon. Forget the toe injury. He will be fine. When healthy, he's perfect for their system as a cutback runner.
13. Carolina Panthers: Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida. This one is easy. They need a right end to replace Mike Rucker. Harvey can attack the quarterback.
14. Chicago Bears: Branden Albert, G-T, Virginia. You can never go wrong in Chicago taking big, powerful offensive linemen.
15. Detroit Lions: Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas. Kevin Jones didn't work out, so why not try another Jones? Tatum Bell sure isn't the answer.
16. Arizona Cardinals: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Tennessee State. They can come back and get a runner in the second round. He's raw, but he's talented.
17. Kansas City Chiefs (from Minnesota): Ryan Clady, T, Boise State. Their line is terrible and he will address the all-important left tackle spot.
18. Houston Texans: Jeff Otah, T, Pittsburgh. He is a former basketball player who has the feet to excel at left tackle.
19. Philadelphia Eagles: DeSean Jackson, WR, California. I know the Eagles like to draft big people, but they need a game-breaker. He would help amp up the return game as well.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State. He'll never last this long in a real draft, but I think he's a little overrated. The Bucs would welcome his speed off the edge.
21. Washington Redskins: Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma. Downgrade him all you want. He plays faster than his time. Jason Campbell needs a big receiver.
22. Dallas Cowboys (from Cleveland): Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida. Terence Newman has one year left on his deal and Pacman Jones is iffy at best with his off-the-field issues. Jenkins would be a steal here.
23. Pittsburgh Steelers: Sam Baker, T, USC. I know more people have Chris Williams ranked ahead of Baker, but this kid was a four-year starter at left tackle at a top-flight program.
24. Tennessee Titans: Limas Sweed, WR, Texas. Vince Young needs help at receiver. Sweed is a big target who Young knows from Texas.
25. Seattle Seahawks: Marcus Harrison, DT, Arkansas. He has some off-field issues, but he's a better player than North Carolina defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer.
26. Jacksonville Jaguars: Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona. When you face the Colts twice, you need as many cover players as you can get.
27. San Diego Chargers: Gosder Cherilus, T, Boston College. If they can get a right tackle, they might move Jeromey Clary to guard in a year or two.
28. Dallas Cowboys: Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois. Marion Barber needs a backup and this would be a steal in this spot. Of course he won't be here in the real draft.
29. San Francisco (from Indianapolis): Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson. They could always use another big body to play on their 3-4 front.
30. Green Bay Packers: Tyrell Johnson, S, Arkansas State. They insist their safeties are good enough. I don't think they have enough range. Johnson does.
31. pick forfeited by New England Patriots
32. New York Giants: Jerod Mayo, LB, Tennessee. Adding a speedy linebacker after losing two in free agency makes a lot of sense.
