Coach impressed with A. Pittman: New Rams assistant head coach/running backs coach Art Valero told CBSSports.com that second-year running back Antonio Pittman is a guy to keep our eyes on toward the future. "The first day I walked in here, the first guy that comes up and meets me is Antonio Pittman," Valero said. "He's been here every day working out. He's a sponge. He wants to know what the offense will be like, he wants to be coached up. Al Saunders is bringing in a running back-friendly offense to the Rams, and I'm telling (Pittman) to wait for it all to be installed, then we'll take it in little bits and pieces. ... He wants to be great." (Updated 03/13/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
After being drafted by the Saints and being a surprise cut at the end of the season, Pittman was picked up by the Rams and eventually made the active roster. In limited action, he compiled 139 rush yards on 38 carries (3.7 avg.) with 15 yards on three grabs (5.0 avg.). He did not score. He was one of our favorites in the 2007 NFL Draft because of his versatility and decent speed and size combo. This summer, he'll compete for a roster spot behind Steven Jackson on the Rams. Unless he falls into regular playing time, Pittman isn't worth a look in seasonal Fantasy drafts. (Updated 03/13/2008).
