Shanahan won't suspend Marshall: The Denver Post reports Broncos coach Mike Shanahan gave his support to WR Brandon Marshall and didn't give any indication he would suspend him. "I can't go into great detail, for obvious reasons, but Brandon has a good upside and he's a real good kid," said Shanahan. "I feel very good where Brandon's at. I think he'll be fine." Marshall's rap sheet includes arrests for domestic violence, driving under the influence and most recently being cited in Denver for an illegal lane change, failure to carry a license and proof of insurance. Marshall could be suspended under the NFL's personal conduct policy because of his multiple arrests from March 2007 into 2008 and other run-ins with the law since he was drafted by the Broncos in 2006. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello has confirmed the NFL is investigating Marshall but Thursday he said no decision has been made. (Updated 07/11/2008).
Injury Report
Arm, Hand - Questionable for the start of training camp (Updated - 6/16/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Marshall delivered a big season last year, catching 102 passes for 1,325 yards and seven touchdowns. Keep an eye on what develops for Marshall because he could face a possible suspension. He's also trying to work his way back from an arm injury, although he is close to 100 percent and on track for training camp. Without the injuries and off-field incidents, Marshall is a terrific middle- to low-end No. 1 Fantasy WR. But because of his troubling offseason, it's best to consider him a No. 2 Fantasy WR. There's a very realistic chance that he'll miss some games for Denver. (Updated 07/11/2008).
WR Brandon Marshall had his arraignment for a June 12 traffic ticket postponed to Aug. 12, according to the Denver Post. Marshall is in danger of losing his driver's license after he was cited June 12 for straying from his lane and driving without a valid license or proof of insurance. Marshall allegedly was driving his black Hummer and using the shoulder on I-25 to pass cars. In Colorado, a license can be suspended for 12 violation points in a 12-month span or 18 in 24 months. According to the Rocky Mountain News, Marshall could rack up to 10 points for the latest traffic violation, and could be hit with 18 more pending the outcome of an October, 2007 arrest for drunken driving. On the positive side, Marshall is expected to be medically cleared to participate in training camp after recovering from a gash to his right forearm in March. 07/17/2008
