Beck adds muscle: CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco reports Miami QB John Beck is bigger and stronger than he was as a rookie last season. He's added muscle to his frame as he competes to be the Dolphins starting quarterback this year with Josh McCown and rookie Chad Henne. "I think fundamentally he is much better right now than when we walked in here," coach Tony Sparano said. "His arm strength is better and he's bigger physically. We're starting to see a lot more velocity on his balls. With the fundamentals that we've tweaked a bit, it's helped him to throw the ball with a stronger arm, and that's important." To say Beck was bad last season as a rookie would be kind. He made four starts, completed 56.1 percent of his passes and threw one touchdown and three interceptions. He fumbled seven times -- lost five -- and was sacked 10 times, showing immaturity in the pocket. (Updated 06/24/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Prisco reports it makes sense for Beck to start. He said Henne didn't look sharp, and neither did McCown. Prisco said the Dolphins should open the season with Beck, find out if he's the guy, and if he's not move on to Henne. Despite how Beck appeared in minicamp, consider McCown the best Fantasy option in Miami, with Beck second and Henne third. McCown would be a No. 2 Fantasy option in 2008 if he starts, but Beck and Henne are No. 3 Fantasy quarterbacks this season. (Updated 06/24/2008).
