Dallas Clark signs six-year deal: Colts president Bill Polian said Wednesday that TE Dallas Clark signed a new six-year contract that virtually assures Peyton Manning of finding one of his favorite targets for the rest of his career. Terms were not disclosed, but a source close to the negotiations said the deal will make Clark the NFL's highest-paid player at his position even though he's never been selected to the Pro Bowl. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because of a clause in the contract. The move came a day after the Colts announced they designated Clark their franchise player. Clark had a career season in 2007, finishing with 58 catches for 616 yards and 11 touchdowns, all career highs. (Updated 02/21/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Clark staying with the Colts is a great thing for Fantasy owners. He has increased his value to be a No. 1 TE, and if Marvin Harrison is limited in 2008 with a knee injury, Clark will continue to shine. Keep an eye on what develops for Clark this offseason, but plan on drafting him in the second tier of No. 1 tight ends and as a starter for your Fantasy team, well worth a middle- to late-round pick in drafts this summer. Sure, drafting who scores the touchdowns and racks up the most yardage goes a long way to winning a Fantasy title, but finding the guys who are the focal points of their offense is vital. Jamey Eisenberg breaks down all of the red zone and target data from the last three seasons.
Should Fantasy owners keep LaDainian Tomlinson or Steven Jackson? Marques Colston or Reggie Wayne? Derek Anderson or Carson Palmer? The answer to these scintillating questions and more can be found in our 2008 keeper rankings.
