DT Rogers reports to camp: Browns Pro Bowl nose tackle Shaun Rogers is taking part in the club's voluntary offseason workout program after missing the first week in an apparent rift with new coach Eric Mangini. In a video clip on the team's Web site, Rogers is shown shaking hands and hugging a teammate in the weight room at the Browns' training facility in Berea. Mangini said at the owner's meetings in California that he has spoken with Rogers, who had reportedly asked to be traded or released. Rogers made the Pro Bowl in his first season with Cleveland. The Browns acquired the 6-foot-4, 350-pounder in a trade last March with Detroit for cornerback Leigh Bodden. He arrived with a reputation of being uncooperative with the media, overweight and having a poor work ethic. However, the 30-year-old was no trouble and had a solid first season.

Rogers is a massive run-stuffer who did well statistically last season, totaling five sacks, three passes defended and about 50 total tackles. The DL position is a thin one in Fantasy, so Rogers' production should be good for at least a No. 2 option in IDP league play in 2009. Think middle- to late-round pick on him.

DT Shaun Rogers has put aside any differences he might have had with coach Eric Mangini and says he is looking forward to learning how quickly the revamped defense will come together. Rogers was so upset in January that he told the Browns to trade him rather than pay him a $6 million roster bonus. Rogers felt miffed because Mangini did not acknowledge him when the two happened to be in the same room during an awards banquet in Cleveland. The Browns paid the bonus and never got close to trading Rogers. Now Rogers is participating in the offseason conditioning program and he was on the field for the three-day voluntary minicamp that concluded Thursday. It was the first time he was on the field with Kenyon Coleman, the defensive end acquired from the Jets in a draft day trade. "We (Mangini and Rogers) handled it, just like grown men do," Rogers said. "You speak about it and go to work. We're fine." 52/1/2009
