Bengals.com reports that RB Rudi Johnson claims he's over his injury and is very encouraged with what the club will do with him in the upcoming season. "I've talked to Marvin (Lewis) and he wants to run the ball," Johnson said. "He wants to get it back to when we ran at will and then threw it over people's heads. That's just another reason I'm excited at getting back into my grind. We've gotten away from that." Johnson added that he'll only be 28 when the 2008 season starts and that his hamstring injury from last year is behind him. "I'm going to be back better than I ever was," Johnson said. "My injury is totally behind me. I'm healthy. In my mind I'm not a question mark." (Updated 03/26/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Johnson only appeared in 11 games in 2007 with nine starts due to that nagging hamstring injury. Because of it, Johnson had his worst season in five years, finishing with only 497 yards rushing and three touchdowns, snapping a three-year streak of at least 1,300 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns each year. Last year's slow down might have given the Bengals a good case to take away carries. Kenny Watson led the Bengals in rushing and did well with Johnson out, and second-year speedster Kenny Irons will return from an ACL injury suffered last August. You should still view Johnson as a No. 2 Fantasy RB, but as a low-end version. The potential for a 1,000-yard season is still there, but so is the potential for him to lose a good amount of reps.
