Overview
Sherry put on a show during his All-Colonial Athletic Association senior season, leading the team in catches (37) and yards (461) in a run-first system and also caught five touchdowns. His performance in the El Paso all-star game really cemented his chance as a potential late-round selection, showing the consistent hands a good reserve tight end must have to stay in the league.
Analysis
Positives: Good height for the position ... Excellent hands, making the catch away from his body ... Adjusts to low and high balls equally well ... Looks like a move-the-chains type receiver who can sit down in zones, but has sneaky quickness to get a few yards after the catch ... Has the flexibility to block on the move, catching linebackers coming inside-out toward the running back.
Negatives: He's a candidate to play H-back because he's built like a big wide receiver and is not strong in-line blocking ... Not the elite athlete most teams want in a starter, and is not sudden getting in and out of his routes ... Will not out-run a lot of NFL linebackers and safeties down the seam.
