The Raiders haven't been competitive for five straight games now, and David Johnson should have a field day against a defense allowing 5.1 ypc to running backs. Oakland ranks dead last in yards per play allowed (6.7). It might seem scary to lay this many points with a bad Arizona team, but at least the Cardinals play like they care. Lay it.
Since changing over and firing offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, the Cardinals have looked much better. New OC Byron Leftwich has blended the offense for proper play calls to aide rookie Josh Rosen. A comeback win over San Francisco and a tough loss to the Chiefs showcased that the Cardinals are playing harder. That can’t be said for the Oakland Raiders who have looked poor in every possible phase. Yet this is a spot where the Raiders' personnel is not over whelmed talent-wise. Grab the value on Oakland.
I'm certainly not going to lay the points with the Cardinals, but I couldn't blame anyone for betting against the Raiders who are 0-5 their last five and also have failed to cover in all five. Four of those games stayed Under because the Raiders scored 6, 3, 3 and 10 points. The Cards have a good defense and they've stayed Under their last two, not mention going 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven. The Cards were favored for the only time this season in the opener and lost outright. Just the Under.
Oakland’s offense has gone AWOL, with 37 points scored in the past three games, and it will only get worse as WRs Jordy Nelson and Martavis Bryant might sit with knee injuries. The long-term loss of RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) has been crippling. Arizona held explosive Kansas City in check last Sunday, and a repeat would keep the Raiders in single digits. Even rookie QB Josh Rosen, still searching for his sea legs, should produce enough points for a cover.
