The Cowboys finally found some offense last week and should continue to ride that momentum against a well-below-average Falcons defense. Atlanta allows 5.2 yards per rush so I expect Ezekiel Elliott will have another big day. I’ll take the better defense getting points.
All season long the Atlanta Falcons have been able to dictate pace which hasn’t translated necessarily in the wins column. With Dallas heading onto the road after a momentum building win look for its defense to emulate last week’s defensive gameplan. The Falcons' inability to establish Tevin Coleman or Ito Smith should be a high catalyst to protect Dallas’ game plan. Grab the Under.
We're getting the Falcons at a good value here, with the Cowboys coming off a high-profile win over the Eagles on Sunday night and the Falcons losing to the Browns. But Atlanta is in a more favorable environment at home, and the Cowboys have a huge matchup with division-leading Washington on Thursday coming up. The Cowboys defense hasn't played a passing offense at the level of the Falcons, and though the Atlanta defense hasn't played well, they'll get enough red-zone stops to let the offense run away with this one.
The Cowboys' defense has seemingly played well this year, but they haven't faced a passing game as talented as the one on the field in Atlanta this week. The Over is 4-1 in Atlanta this year, and I think there's a great chance these two teams put a ton of points on the board and get there again in this matchup. The Falcons have been terrible against the run, while the Cowboys have allowed at least 20 points in each of their last three games. I think we're going to see something along the lines of 31-24.
Dallas has been the poster child of inconsistency. The Cowboys, coming off a road win, hit the road again in search of their first back-to-back victories this season. Atlanta’s offense has embraced Mercedes-Benz Stadium, scoring in the 30s in three games and exceeding 400 yards in the fourth. Its injury-stricken defense could be buoyed by the return of LB Deion Jones (foot), out since Week One and finally removed from injured reserve. Play the short favorite Sunday.
What a difference Amari Cooper makes in this Cowboys offense. His presence as a No. 1 option really helps out both Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. Where the Falcons have thrived this season is on the offensive side of the ball. Their defense is still questionable from game-to-game, and were thoroughly out-classed last week by the Cleveland Browns. Without knowing which Falcons defense will show up, you have to deal with what you know, which is Dallas' defense is good enough to slow down what Atlanta wants to do offensively, which should allow the Cowboys offense to have more opportunities to keep their offense rolling.
I like Atlanta to bounce back; the Falcons are much better at home. This is Dallas' second straight game on the road. The Cowboys have not been a good road team, except for last week in a divisional game. I just don't trust Dallas. Matt Ryan will play better and Atlanta will cover.
