Tennessee is coming off its worst performance, and I think it's a great time to buy low. The Chargers are in a tough spot, staying in Cleveland through the week before heading to London. Even with leaving Thursday, the 6:30 a.m. PT start time could play a role. The Titans' offensive line will be better after a rare dud against the Ravens, and I trust their coaching staff in a weird situation more in this matchup. This line was Chargers -3 on the lookahead, so we're getting great value with Tennessee.
The Titans have failed to cover their last 10 meetings with the Chargers and have lost their last two, while the Chargers have won three straight. The Chargers' only two losses this season have come against the Rams and Chiefs. But before giving them too much credit, consider their wins have come against the Bills, 49ers, Raiders and Browns. The final selling point is the spread, which appears inflated by about a field goal. A neutral field in London? Take the Titans and the points.
Not to harp on one game, but Tennessee’s offense was so wretched last Sunday that it’s hard to imagine a turnaround against L.A. while dealing with the ramifications of travel to London. The Chargers have torn through their past two opponents, winning by a combined 40 points. They are reasonably healthy, while the Titans will surely miss veteran LB Derrick Morgan (shoulder). Tennessee put up a big zero against Baltimore, whose defense is peerless. But the Chargers’ D is dogged, too.
The Titans gave up 11 sacks last week and the Chargers had five of their own against Cleveland. This could be a disaster for Tennessee; the Titans are in big trouble and the Chargers are finding themselves. Lay the points.
