I don't particularly love that I'm giving up more than a field goal on the road, but with Earl Thomas on fire for Seattle and Josh Rosen starting his first game for Arizona, I'm going to roll with the better coached defense and a team getting its No. 1 receiver in Doug Baldwin back. The Seahawks are more talented top-to-bottom and could create some turnovers to give themselves even more opportunity to score. I do think Seattle ultimately wins by a touchdown or more, which is why I'm comfortable enough laying nearly four.
Russell Wilson loves facing the Cardinals (7 TDs last three meetings) and should have another strong game here. Earl Thomas is back and the Seahawks will force Josh Rosen into multiple mistakes. Lay it.
The Cardinals offense has been atrocious this season, and the team is long overdue to turn to Josh Rosen. While I'm a fan of the QB switch, I don't expect the rookie to have immediate success, especially against a defense that started to find its legs last week and still ranks ninth in points allowed per drive. The only time Russell Wilson has lost in Arizona? His first career game, and he's thrown 10 TDs and zero interceptions in Arizona since. Expect the Seahawks to take care of business on the road yet again in this matchup.
A rookie quarterback made his debut in the midst of a game last weekend and did NOT guide his team to victory. Unlike Baker Mayfield with Cleveland, Josh Rosen was unable to deliver a W in part because -- hard to fathom -- the Browns’ offense is superior to the Cardinals’ for now. Complicating matters for Rosen is a pesky hamstring ailment that has slowed WR Larry Fitzgerald. The advanced metrics people who do Defense DVOA rank Seattle sixth in the league, and the ‘Hawks have avoided an ATS defeat in their last five trips to the desert.
Josh Rosen has been named the starter for the Cardinals. This is the right move for this organization, but he's still a rookie, and this Cardinals team is one of the least sharp organizations in the leauge. Seattle will likely have Baldwin, Lockett and Marshall all healthy for this game. My ratings make the Seahawks -9 favorites on a neutral site and -6.5 favorites in Arizona. This the 2nd biggest edge of the week in my model. Lay it!
Seattle showed what it can do when it puts things together, hammering the Cowboys. And Arizona showed it can blow a 14-0 lead at home, and Josh Rosen wasn't very impressive in a relief role against the Bears. The Seahawks cover in a solid 60 percent of projections by nearly a TD on average.
